Freshly-Squeezed Orange Juice
There are plenty of ways in which I prioritize convenience over homemade quality. Whenever we make pizza, for example, we buy ready-made dough from the Whole Foods pizza section. Or if I need to make cookies and I’m short on time, I grab one of those tubes (or, if I’m really in a hurry, I get the kind that is already divided into squares).
However, whenever we have friends over for breakfast, I try my very best to always make freshly-squeezed orange juice. Nothing compares to it! I simply buy a big bag of cheap oranges from the store and break out the $5 juicer I found on Craigslist.
Freshly-squeezed orange juice just makes everything in the world feel right (even if I take lots of other shortcuts on the rest of the meal!).

Did a double take there. I didn't know anyone else used bonne maman jars as drinking cups. Actually I did because we got the idea from a friend, but he lives up the road, not across a major ocean. Hooray for drinking out of jam jars!
Have you tried using polenta as a pizza base? You can get it (over here anyway) already cooked and in vacuum packed blocks which you can slice lengthways to get four rectangular pizza bases. No idea whether it's cheaper than ready made pizza dough. I have found it to be nicer than store bought pizza bases but then those are basically made of cardboard.

I want a juicer so bad! I take olive oil with a bit of lemon, pear, or apple juice every night to help break up and avoid gall stones. I just assumed they'd be cost prohibitive but I never thought to look on Craigslist!

Hmm… this doesn't seem like an entry that was written specifically for today…
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

@Julie was thinking the same thing! Keeping you in my thoughts Sara!

I was thinking the same thing and Julie and Kelsey… Congratulations, Sara and Matt! Welcome, Coconut! Can't wait to read the big reveal. 🙂

I don't want to read about orange juice. I want to read about the baby!

No, no–I'm still here! I did write this post for my maternity leave and those posts started running today (I thought surely he would be here by now), but he's not! I'm still working full-time, and I guess I'll be going to prenatal yoga tonight!
I will try my very best to write a "I'm going into labor" post, unless everything happens so quickly that I don't have time.
Thanks for thinking about me!

I thought surely you had begun labor as well! I checked a couple times this weekend as well, so the o.j. post seemed like a tell-tale sign! Let our body and baby tell their time. They know better than any of us when the time is right! 🙂

Nothing beats fresh squeezed orange juice, NOTHING!
