    In response to my post asking for menopause resources last week, Erika shared the site: floliving. The idea is that we can see great benefits in our lives when we eat and exercise in sync with our cycle. It got me thinking a lot about living in sync with your cycle!

    The concept is really simple. With regard to eating, for example, she says that an excess of estrogen can cause unhelpful symptoms and that adding in certain vegetables can help. Here are her recommendations:

    Follicular phase (before you ovulate, after your period)

    Artichoke, broccoli, carrot, parsley, green peas, string beans and zucchini

    Menopause: What are good resources?

    I’m wondering if I’m starting the menopause process, or at least perimenopause. It’s hard to tell! My periods are coming more frequently, and I’m feeling a fluttering in my reproductive organs. It’s the same fluttering I felt the three times I got pregnant. (Point of clarification: One pregnancy resulted in miscarriage.)

    I have no idea what to expect!

    Stress definitely has an impact on my cycles. And I am most certainly stressed right now! This year hasn’t been easy between COVID and the snowpocalypse and other unexpected tragedies. But stress usually makes my cycles farther apart, not closer together.
