Fall! A List of Intentions

Believe it or not, I can tell that fall has descended upon Houston. Of course it still feels hot, but it’s not an oppressive, inferno kind of heat.

The summer came and went, and I don’t really feel like I had a chance to “seize the season.” I was inspired by Amanda’s list, but I couldn’t seem to make time for own delicious list making.

So now fall is here, and I want to set some intentions. How can I best take advantage of the fall for myself and for our little family?

Let’s see:

  • Go to a pumpkin patch! Yes and yes! It would be so fun to take Henry to his first pumpkin patch.
  • Make homemade Halloween costumes for Henry and me.
  • Bake pumpkin seeds.
  • Make caramel apples.
  • Knit something.
  • Make and send Thanksgiving cards to friends and family.
  • Decorate our house for the holidays.
  • Use my crock pot frequently.
  • Use my bread machine frequently.
  • Get my hands on this book to give me more ideas about taking full advantage of each season.

I don’t want to make the list too long. It’s meant to be a source of inspiration, not stress. But if I’m excited by another idea, I’ll surely add it to the list, so please do share your own intentions!

Happy Fall to you and yours!

I'm excited for fall as well. Homemade butternut squash soup, caramel popcorn, and pumpkin cupcakes are on my baking list! So is a corn maze with my nieces and an evening hayride. I also need to start on some homemade christmas presents I am planning!

I love your list! I send Thanksgiving cards too, but didn't last year because we were going through a rough patch. Perhaps I need to this year for exactly the same reason – thanks for the reminder!

I started the week with a butternut squash, apple, and white bean stew in the crock pot. It may not feel like fall outside, but it did inside!

Yay! The weather is cooling down here as well, thank GOODNESS. I love your fall list, I also want to get Amanda’s new book. I love to celebrate the change of the seasons, especially since the change in weather is so subtle here. Love the idea of Thanksgiving cards!

Hi, stef! I didn't mean to be so northern-hemisphere centric! In my classroom, I used to have a spot on the board that said: Season in the Northern Hemisphere and another spot for Season in the Southern Hemisphere.

    Happy Spring to you!
