New Wallet: Here are some ideas
I’m just like my mom: I’m an under-buyer. I will let something get really old and gross (think holes in underwear or stretched out bathing suits) before I go shopping for a new thing. (Editor’s Note: If you aren’t sure if you are an over-buyer or under-buyer, you can check out Gretchen Rubin’s quiz here or listen to The Girl Next Door Podcast episode about the concept). It looks like it has been six years since I bought a new wallet.
This time around, I decided against a fabric wallet. I actually don’t want to replace my wallets every 3.5-6 years, which is what I’ve been doing this past decade. I’d love to make it at least 10 years before buying a new one! (See, under-buyer in the house).
Here’s the criteria I was looking for:
- Durable outer material
- Aesthetically beautiful
- A place for coins
- A place for bills to lay flat
- Easy to open and close
- As small as possible
- Likely to stay shut
Here are the options I considered:
Vegan wallet from Reispeices
From Corkor
Zip-around wallet from ChurchillAtelier
From Alana Leather Studio
I opted for the first one. I’m crossing my fingers that I love it!
If you are invested in hearing the outcome, I will probably be more likely to mention it within my weekly newsletter. I hope the verdict is positive!
Are you in love with your wallet? If so, please link to it in the comments!

HOBO!! Best wallet ever. I’ve had mine for over a decade and it’s in almost new condition. It felt like a huge splurge when I bought it but it has seriously been the best wallet I’ve ever owned. Best part is the style I got “Lauren” is large enough to act as a clutch when I’m just heading to the store or out for drinks. It even fits my iPhone. Highly, highly recommend!

I’ve never heard of HOBO. I’ll have to check them out. Thanks so much, Meghan!
