Spring Break Plans: What are my intentions?
Before I head into any break, I like to set my intentions for that break. Do I want to prioritize rest and relaxation? Do I want adventure? Quality time with family? Time to advance projects I’ve been wanting to work on? I can’t do it all, so being intentional about what I want to do helps me prioritize my time.
We are heading into a two-week break with four distinct parts:
- My friend and I are having a two-day working retreat. I expect this part of my break to be energizing and soul-satiating. I’ve done a lot already to prepare for our time together. Now I just need to lean into it!
- After that, my family and I have several days together at the vacation house. I want that time to be relaxing and restorative. I’m thinking walks in the woods. Netflix. Books. Hammock time.
- After that, we head into our Staycation. I want that time to be full of new adventures and experiences for us. And just plan good ol’ fun.
- Finally, I’m heading to another educational conference where we are going to sell our Monarch Readers for the first time. I want that time to be electrifying.
As I write all of this out, I’m realizing how overwhelming all of this could feel. It’s a lot of extroversion for my introverted heart and mind. I think I need to be intentional about building in rest in all the ways that make sense.
I hope you get a Spring Break this year and I hope you get to spend it in exactly the ways you want!

I experienced a horrific internet assault by Sara Cotner. I warn others to not engage with her.
