How to Talk with Kids about Death
The day has come that I had hoped would never come. I had to let my school community know that a child within our community passed away from a tragic accident at home.
As you can imagine, our community is devastated. The scope of this loss is difficult to bring into focus, and the weight of it is impossibly heavy.

Happy 10th Birthday, Dearest Henry!
You launched your 9th year with an awesome slumber party. The next day we flew to Los Angeles for Spring Break. And a couple weeks later, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States. Life as we knew it changed pretty dramatically.
We had to cancel our Around-the-World trip. In its place, we headed to Indiana and Michigan for summer vacation. We also traveled to New Braunfels for Fall Break and San Diego and Oceanside for Winter Break. We did road trips for everything and spent as much time as possible outside.

Reiki: Have you tried it? What did you think?
I don’t really know what reiki is, but I’ve decided to try it! Here’s the back story:
Last week, I finally made time to do 5 minutes of yoga and another 5 minutes of meditation. It was the first time I had done it in our new house, which means I hadn’t done it since at least mid-November.
At the end of my 10-minute mini-session, I lay prostrate on the ground and burst into tears. It was such a relief to reconnect with my body. I realized I give nearly 100% of my time and energy to my brain.
