Very Tricky Business
Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! I am so bad at this gardening thing. Why do I have to like it so much?
Our tomato plants are dying. Is it the fact that I planted them before Mother’s Day (a no-no in Colorado)? Or is it because 6-inches is not deep enough for such a massive root ball? Or is it because we put too many coffee grinds around the base of the plants?
Gardening is very tricky business.

Dwell in Possibility
Whoa. Stuff is really growing now. The onions have shot up. The radish seedlings are flourishing. And, today for the first time, carrot sprouts have made an appearance.
I’m somebody who is eager to check the mail on a daily basis because I dwell in possibility. Checking the garden each day creates the same sensation. I can’t wait to see what has changed or grown.
Our one dilemma: our new dog, Haus. There’s an indirect correlation between his bulkiness and his gracefulness. Whenever I’m hunched over the garden, he likes to bound over to me and occasionally sticks a big fat paw in the middle of a raised bed. Argh! … Read More

If I Had a Green Thumb…
We bucked the advice given to us about gardening in Colorado and decided to plant our tomatoes before Mother’s Day. It doesn’t seem like we’re going to have a frost before then. However, I do worry that the soil may be a little too cold.
When will I learn to follow directions? Argh! If I had a green thumb, then maybe I could get creative. Alas. We’ll see what happens…
