Routines for a New School Year: What We Are Trying
It feels like all I’ve been doing is writing about routines for a new school year! I had this post about our routines last year. And then this post about our routines for distance learning. And now I’m writing about routines for going back to school part-time.
Starting today, the boys are heading back to school from 7:45am-11am, Tuesday through Friday. They will work on their distance learning homework at school. If they finish it at school, they don’t have any homework. If they don’t finish it, they have to come home and do homework. They still have a full set of distance learning assignments on Mondays.

A Personal Food Choice Map: What Mine Looks Like
I’ve been doing Noom for four weeks now. I continue to really like it. The truth is, I generally eat too much. On a given day, I eat more calories than my body actually needs. And on the weekends, I eat way more than my body needs. These extra calories are being stored as belly fat, which research links to premature death. Why do I eat more than I need? Noom says building a personal food choice map will help me understand myself better.
What determines WHAT I eat?
The choices are cost, convenience, health, pleasure, visual appeal, time, other people, etc.
Here is my priority order:

Favorite Game with Kids: What We Are Loving
Joanna recently recommended what has become our new favorite game with kids! It’s called Too Many Monkeys. I find that it’s the right blend of critical thinking + sheer luck for my children’s ages. They are 9 and 7 years-old.
