Could there be a scarier question to ask than “Is society as we know it collapsing?”
I’m not sure (about whether there’s a scarier question or whether society is collapsing!) But this question has been on my mind ever since a friend of mine shared this podcast episode with me featuring Margaret Wheatley. I have since started reading her related book—Who Do we Choose to Be? Facing Reality, Claiming Leadership, Restoring Sanity.
She argues that human civilizations follow a similar cycle that ultimately ends in collapse. In her opinion, all signs point to the fact that we are currently in the final stage of collapse.

As the holidays get closer and closer, I’ve been thinking about how to talk to kids about Thanksgiving.
In our school’s Creating & Welcoming and Inclusive Community toolkit, we talk about how to introduce critical consciousness in a developmentally appropriate way.
During the First Plane of Development (0-6 years-old), our goal is to help children develop a feeling of safety, trust in the world, and secure attachments with the adults in their lives. Bringing Your Child with You to Vote
When I made my initial plan for voting early, I decided to head to the polls one day after work. The early voting place is literally between my work and my home (which are already only 2 miles apart!).
