I tried to encourage Tate to take his heavy binoculars out of his backpack before we left for the cruise; I’m so glad he insisted I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise. I’m constantly asking Matt, “How do we savor this relatively short amount of time we get with our children during the years they live at home?” I don’t mean to sound obsessive, but I see the children that I taught in elementary school already having their own children.
