    Helping the Homeless

    Over the past couple months, Henry really started to notice and talk about all the homeless people we pass on the street. Although we try to keep his world mostly positive during the first plane of development (during which he is developing his love for the world), we also want to be honest with him about what he sees.

    National Night Out

    In an attempt to “put down roots” this year, Matt and I have attended monthly church potlucks, invited new friends over for dinner, and gone out of our way to meet neighbors. However, I’m eager to do more. 

    Enter National Night Out. In Texas, we have National Night Out on October 1st because the thought is that it’s too hot to have block parties in the summer. Our neighborhood is having an event at the local park later in the evening, so Matt and I are planning to host a potluck earlier in the evening.     Habit #2: Read Every Night Before Bed

    So far, so good when it comes to my plan to introduce one new habit every week (or so). I’ve done a much better job with staying hydrated. I make it a habit to always have my water bottle with me, to constantly drink water whenever I’m at restaurants, and to drink a lot at dinner if I need to catch up for the rest of the day.
