    I feel so fortunate to be able to share today’s interview with you. I “met” Kelly a few months ago during one of my attempts to start building connections with people in Austin before we move there. Her project–one hundred scarves–resonates with me so deeply.     Babysitting Co-Op

    I spend a lot of time bemoaning the fragmentation of modern American society into nuclear families. After all, I really do believe that it “takes a village” to raise a child (or at least it’s a heck of a lot easier when you have help around).

    Implementing Change in Your Life


    I have two areas in my life that I’m really working to change:

    1. I want to do a better job of keeping our house clean throughout the week. We do a good job of doing our chores once a week, but we let things get cluttered throughout the week.
    2. I want to put forth a concerted effort to speak Spanish fluently, so I can communicate better with many of my students’ families.
    Unfortunately, I’ve made a habit of telling myself that I want to change these things, instead of actually making it a habit of doing them.
