Easy DIY Baby Quilt
I used to be good about honoring and celebrating the major life events of friends with handmade cards and gifts. It’s definitely one of the things that Motherhood has pushed to the side. It’s something I’ve been striving to get better about recently.
When I got invited to a friend’s baby shower, I decided to make her a little baby quilt. I made one for Henry, and I honestly used it a ton. It was a great blanket to stuff in the diaper bag, bring on stroller walks, use during naps, etc. Even now, he uses it as his nap blanket at school.

Making Handmade Wrapping Paper with a Toddler
The Christmas festivities have started at our humble abode! I hung up our Christmas countdown calendar and our “Cherish” bunting. We purchased a potted Christmas tree (which we plan to plant in the backyard of the house we’re building after Christmas–which, by the way, we still haven’t started because the city is taking FOREVER to get the building permit to us!).We’ve ordered or made most of our Christmas presents and have started wrapping them. Thoughts on Making a Halloween Costume and Striving for Balance
My first attempt was a complete disaster. I kid you not. I tried to make a little outfit in the shape of a strawberry and it ended up looking like a three-dimensional Star of David with a slit down the back so Henry could get into it.
