    Halloween Update

    After pondering the grape idea for several days (thank you for your suggestions!), I realized that I should probably factor in comfort a little more for little Henry’s Halloween costume. Knowing my little boy, I don’t think he’ll be comfortable with little spheres sticking out all over him (he likes to sit down to eat–frequently). 
    I went back to thinking about his favorite things. Food is at the top. Behind grapes, he loves strawberries. A quick google search produced several adorable images:

    Halloween in July

     Love this hat!
    No doubt this post will make some of your eyes roll back in your head. But, for me, if I’m going to execute a handmade Halloween costume, I have to start planning it in July. And, for the record, it’s almost August.
    I’m eager for Henry to be able to communicate to us what he wants to be for Halloween. A friend of mine let her four year-old make a list of everything she wanted to be for several weeks (of course it kept changing), but she gave her a deadline.     DIY: Winter Baby Shirts!





    A couple weeks ago, I was brainstorming ideas about how to use freezer paper as a stencil for Henry’s shirts. During the process, I decided to order the pdf version of this pattern to make some winter shirts for Henry. As a side note, I highly recommend buying pdf versions of patterns and printing them on your own computer. Although it’s more work to piece and tape the pattern together when it doesn’t fit on standard paper, it’s so much easier to work with real paper as opposed to tissue paper.
