    Around Here Lately

    This photo from our vacation in Tahoe is totally misleading!
    Yes, I had a wonderful time in Tahoe with our in-laws, but my summer has not been all smiles and sunshine. My summer has been a lot of put-my-head-down-and-work. I feel like I want to make serious progress on my to-do list so that I head into the school year more relaxed and better able to institute a balanced routine.

    Don’t Know What We Need Till We Get It

    I keep singing “Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” but I’m realizing that, for me, I haven’t been understanding what I need until I get it. 
    It happened first when I accidentally picked up the book Little Bee from the Little Free Library in our neighborhood and realized how deprived I’ve been without fiction in my life.

    Leadership Coach?

    In this post, I wrote about how I
    used to devote more time to intentional self-growth but I had grown out of the
    habit over the years.
    One really quick way to get back
    into the habit would be to start seeing a therapist. However, I think the more
    relevant route for me at this point in my life (since my time is limited and I
    need to stay very focused on my work) would be to look for a leadership
    coach—someone who is part-therapist, part-life coach, part-executive coach, and
