This summer marks seven years since my miscarriage. I still mention it and bring it into conversation (even with strangers) as often as I comfortably can. In my opinion, miscarriage isn’t talked about enough. Statistics show that it happens with up to 1 out of every 4 pregnancies. In addition to miscarriage, there are many people struggling with infertility. I personally find that it’s comforting to share our difficulties with one another. Post-Miscarriage Reflection: How I’m Doing
It’s been more than a month since my miscarriage. Fortunately, I’m honestly feeling a lot better about it. Do you want to know what lifted my spirits the most? (Hint, it wasn’t any of the “positives” I tried to identify in the midst of the experience.). It was projecting myself into the future. A vision of our family of four (or seven if you include our bloodhound and chickens) emerged. I could see myself looking at my second child and thinking, “I’m so glad you’re here.
