Getting Healthy as I Head into Perimenopause
I’m taking this quote from a physiologist and personal trainer about getting healthy to heart. She said:
“Everyone in their 40s should be thinking about getting themselves in tip-top shape so that when [perimenopause] happens, it’s as fine as it can be. Don’t treat it like a lottery and don’t wait until you’re feeling crap and then try to make decisions in that state.”

- Exercise
- Nutrition
- Sleep
- Stress-Reduction
Trying to do those four things while also working a big, full-time job while also raising a 10 year-old and an 8 year-old is no joke!

How I Lost 20 Pounds During a Pandemic
Phew! I’m so happy to be writing a post about how I lost 20 pounds during a pandemic! Pandemics are not synonymous with “health and well being.” It would have been so easy for me to keep on gaining weight during this time. I like to eat when I’m bored or stressed or just hanging out at home. Hello, Pandemic Life!
In case it’s helpful for anyone else, here’s everything that helped me lose 20 pounds during a pandemic:
- I weigh myself every morning while the shower is heating up. I know weight is not synonymous with health. But, for me, I definitely feel healthier when I’m in my average

Noom for a Healthy Life: Noom Me Versus the Old Me
I’m still going strong with using Noom for a healthy life. It has been about 2.5 months. I’ve been putting much better habits into place, which feels great. I’ve also lost about 15 pounds.
One of the activities Noom had us do last week was to brainstorm some of our new habits versus our old habits.
The first thing I love is that I’m walking thousands of steps every day. I hit this goal through a combination of working at my treadmill desk and going for walks through the neighborhood.
