    March: Reflection & Rejuvenation

    March! Already? 

    You were good to me, February. Thank you. 
    We celebrated my birthday and Henry’s birthday and we received 750 applications for only 300 spots at the school I’m working to build. 
    On the downside, I was tired. all. the. time. Dear Tate has been struggling on the sleep front. We tried sleep training early on, but a series of colds (it has seriously been back-to-back-to-back-to-back) and teeth (already up to at least four–he doesn’t like when I look in his mouth) have hindered progress. I had the realization the other day that I have literally not slept more than five consecutive hours in eight months. Is that legal?

    Reflection & Rejuvenation: February!

    And with that, we are already 1/12th of the way through 2014!
    It feels so good to be back in the habit of setting monthly goals again. It feels good to envision something and then make it happen. I feel like this month’s process has worked particularly well. The goals weren’t too ambitious, and I put them into my weekly electronic action plan (I use a OneNote binder uploaded to SkyDrive) so I was constantly looking at them. It can be discouraging when there are too many goals or when I don’t look at them until the end of the month and suddenly have to fit everything in.

    New Year’s Resolutions

    Happy New Year! I hope this Monday morning finds you well. It feels so great to be publishing posts again. Thanks for existing out there.

    I read something in passing that only 8% of New Year’s resolutions are kept so why bother?   

    For me, it’s empowering and comforting to commit to do something, make a plan for getting it done, and then to put one foot in front of the other to make it happen.
