How to Eat Healthy: 12 Easy Tips

how to eat healthy

I came across an advertisement on Instagram from NutritionFacts.org. The Magic Internet knows that I care about trying to feed myself and my family healthy foods (even though I would put us at about a 6 out of 10). The site talks about how to eat healthy and be healthy with 12 these easy steps.

For some reason, I love these 12 ideas so much! They seem so easy and actionable. For example, I can knock out four of them with a single breakfast smoothie.

I put a hold on his book from the library: How Not to Die: Discover the Foods Scientifically Proven to Prevent and Reverse Disease.

In the meantime, I subscribed to his email series designed to help me understand the 12 habits more clearly.

Also, there’s a free app you can download if you’re interested in tracking them daily. (I’m not going to bring more tracking into my life, but I appreciate the offer!).

What are your thoughts about this advice about how to eat healthy? It seems insufficient to me (like there’s no mention of protein or sufficient healthy fats), but I like the direction it’s going. And, for some reason, the amount of fruits and vegetables seems reasonable to me.

My new breakfast smoothie will be: 1 cup of Chobani Greek yogurt, almond milk, 2 cups spinach, 1 cup cauliflower, 1/2 banana, and frozen berries.

At lunch, I’m going to add hummus with turmeric. And eat it with carrots.

I’m excited for some new inspiration!
