Homemade Pasta: Here We Come!

Image courtesy of Love & Lemons I have been quite slow to jump on the kitchen bandwagon brought about by COVID. No sourdough baking for me! I’m guessing it’s because I’ve had less time because of COVID, not more of it? After all, we did have to reimagine our entire school model and play the role of armchair epidemiologists. And now we run two schools instead of one! (And I still have to make four videos a week. Oy!) But at this point I’m ready to slow down and be more in the present. Biking to Work: Thinking Through the Details

I have biking to work on the brain because we are moving in two(!) weeks, and I will be 0.7 miles from work. Surely I need to start biking or walking?
I used to bike to work when I was a teacher in rural Louisiana. It was hilarious because hardly anyone biked in the whole (small!) town. My students’ families would see me, pull over, and ask if I needed a ride: “Is your car broken-down?”

Financial Goals: What Are Mine?

For those of you who have been reading this blog the past couple months, you know I’ve been craving “novelty and progress.” It led me to read a book about financial independence. Then there was this big decision for our family. Through it all, I’ve been wondering, “What are our financial goals?” It seems to me that Matt and I will have a much harder time reaching our goals if we don’t really know what they are!
We sat down to flesh them out together. Here’s what we came up with:

- We want to live in a home that feels like a sanctuary and
