Annual Reflection: 2019

Dearest 2019, it’s time for my annual reflection!
What kind of year did we have together?
My highs include spending a month in Melbourne at a Montessori training, a super-fun birthday dinner and late-night dancing party, my first-ever cruise (even though I realized I am not a cruise person), my first-ever RV trip (even though I realized I am not an RV person), an incredible summer vacation in upstate New York, a summer visit from my mom, a visit from some of our best friends from Oakland, regular Saturday Suppers, regular pizza dinners with neighbors, two fun weddings, Thanksgiving at the beach with my family, … Read More

Picture Books about Diverse Religions

Every month, Montessori For All selects an anti-bias, anti-racist book for our teachers to read to their communities. First we select one for 3-6 year-olds, then one for 1st-3rd graders, and finally one for 4th-6th graders. You can subscribe to our monthly newsletter. It includes links to book guides with discussion questions, vocabulary words, and extension activities to be used in the classroom or at home, you can sign up here. This month we are focusing on picture books about diverse religions. Further, you can find books about peace/justice/empathy here or immigration and refugees here.
