    Family Camping: Our Most Recent Trip

    We had so much fun on our recent family camping trip. There was no time to take photos! This trip was the Spring campout through our school. We have a trip in the Fall and a trip in the Spring. The photo above is from our camping trip to the same location last year.

    We headed out for Pedernales Falls State Park on Saturday morning. When we arrived, we set up camp right next to good friends of ours. Our giant pop-up tent continues to be amazing.

    Best Tent for Family Camping: The One We Love!

    In general, I spend a lot of time thinking about something before I spend money on it. I debated for a long time about what we wanted to do about our tent situation. We finally landed on what feels like the best tent for family camping!

    Before Matt and I met, we each had our own tents. We consolidated down to just my tent because it was in better condition. But my tent didn’t comfortably fit all four of us. So we debated about whether to get another 2-person tent or to get a bigger tent for all of us to share.

    Camping with Kids: You don’t do it for the sleep

    Our second tent-camping experience with kids was a success! We drove to Palmetto State Park after school, stopping in Lockhart for dinner.

    Similar to our first tent-camping experience with our kids, we arrived later than I wish we had. Unlike our first trip, we at least arrived while it was still light outside. Fortunately, our tent is incredible. It literally pops into place! However, it got dark right when we finished, and it didn’t leave a lot of time to play and socialize with friends.
